Vanessa Greer
Vanessa GreerPresident
Vanessa Greer has been an active volunteer with PMI-NS since 2015. Vanessa is an Honors Graduate of the Culinary Arts and Pastry Arts Programs of the Culinary Institute of Canada. In her culinary career, Vanessa worked at The Confederation Center of the Arts in Charlottetown, St. Charles Golf & Country Club in Winnipeg, CN Tower and La Rocca Creative Cakes in Toronto. While working as an Office Manager for Rose Reisman & By Davids’ Catering in Toronto, Vanessa decided to transition from a culinary career to a business career. She currently works in Human Resource Capital Management with ADP.
Robin England
Robin EnglandImmediate Past President
Robin England, MA, PMP is a Senior Project Manager and Process Improvement Lead with over 15 years’ experience in Health Care, Finance, and IT in public and private industries. She specializes in Organizational & Strategic Change Management, Performance Improvement, Lean Methodologies, and PMO development including PMI methodologies, standards, and tools. Additional areas of expertise in business performance, cross-sector and complex technology/software implementation, quality and risk/enterprise risk management, business continuity and strategic planning. Robin has held positions of Director of Communications & Marketing, VP of Operations, and VP Programs with PMI Nova Scotia and is President for the 2019/2020 term.
 Uzo Nnamdi
Uzo NnamdiVP, Programs
Uzo Nnamdi PMP, CBAP is a project management professional with over 15 years’ experience in Energy, Information Systems and Utilities sectors leading multi-cultural matrix teams and co-ordinating diverse stakeholder groups to achieve regulatory compliance, cost-effective service delivery and other project objectives. As a lifelong learner with an avid passion to give back to her community, Uzo began her PMI volunteer journey serving as the Study Co-ordinator for the Winter 2017 Study Group. As Director, Professional Development, she leads the chapter’s efforts to enhance members’ professional development through the provision of mentoring programs and facilitated study groups to promote certification.
Jeffrey Bonus
Jeffrey BonusVP Operations
Jeffrey Bonus, B.Sc., PMP has been a member of PMI-NS chapter since 2015 when he moved from Calgary to Nova Scotia to work at the Sobeys head office. Jeffrey relocated to Halifax in 2018 and joined Sierra Systems an NTT Data Company as a Lead Consultant. Jeffrey was an active volunteer in the PMI-Southern Alberta Chapter serving as the VP of Membership from 2010 – 2013. There he managed the Mentorship and Company Ambassador programs. He started the New Membership Orientations and Leadership Programs and co-founded the PMI-SAC Toastmasters club. He was apart of the Board when they won PMI Chapter of Year in 2013. Jeffrey is a senior Project Manager with 14+ years of project experience implementing software and business systems over many diverse industries. He is currently working on contract with the Labour and Advanced Education on a multi province Apprenticeship Management System project.
Mahbubur Rahman
Mahbubur RahmanDirector, Professional Development
Mahbubur Rahman is from Dhaka, Bangladesh and has been living in Halifax, Nova Scotia for last seven years. Mahbubur Rahman has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology and MASc of Civil Engineering from Dalhousie University. He obtained his PMP in 2019 and now working as Project Manager in DeepSense, Dalhousie University. He has more than fifteen years of combined working experience as Project Manager, Civil Engineer and Assistant Professor/Lecturer of Civil Engineering. He is happy to call Halifax his new home where he lives with his wife and two children. Mahbubur Rahman is an active community leader and volunteer in Halifax Community. He is the current Chair of Fusion Halifax, Board member of Planning & Design Center, School Advisory Council & PTA Co Chair of Inglis Street Elementary alongside active volunteer position with multiple organizations. He held leadership positions within last seven years as Vice President (Finance & Operations) of Dalhousie Student Union, President of Halifax Student Housing Society, Board member of Trip by Transit, Board Member of CKDU, Board Member of Dalhousie Gazette and many other community organizations. Mahbubur’s leadership and community engagement was recognized through multiple awards including Top 25 Immigrant of the Maritimes 2018, Province of Nova Scotia Volunteer Award 2017, Halifax Regional Municipality Volunteer Awards 2017, Dalhousie Board of Governors Award 2015.
Tanya Dent
Tanya DentDirector, Events
Tanya is currently an IT Business Support Lead in the utility industry. She is a Project Management Professional acquiring her PMP credentials in March 2020. Tanya’s career covers both the IT and legal field working as a Paralegal for the first 17 years and the last 3.5 years as a Project Manager in IT. Tanya has been a volunteer with the Nova Scotia Chapter for the last three (3) years as a Social Media Lead as well as served as Study Group Building Facilitator in the Fall of 2016 and the Fall of 2019 . Tanya is trained in Agile and Waterfall Methodology and her most recent projects focused within the customer care portfolio. Tanya has a passion for health and wellness and is an avid sports enthusiast actively participating in boxing, basketball and hockey.
Derek Dow
Derek DowDirector at Large
Derek is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). He is currently employed at Englobe as Mechanical & Electrical Lead, NS working the consulting engineering field. He has lead teams of over 100 engineering professionals in a variety of different industries. Prior to joining Englobe, Derek has been employed as an engineering manager and program/project manager in a variety of industries including: marine engineering, physical security infrastructure, oil & gas and buildings, infrastructure and energy. Derek has volunteered with PMI-NS since 2008 holding numerous different roles including, Events Commitment Member, PMP Study Group Facilitator, Director of Professional Development, Vice President-Service Delivery, Treasurer and President.
Kostia Zaharov
Kostia ZaharovDirector, Innovation and Partnerships
Kostia Zaharov is a Senior Consultant with The Barrington Consulting Group Inc, based in Halifax. Kostia is a Project Manager with over 7 years’ experience in executing large scale technology-intensive projects in telecommunication, IT and construction industries for commercial, governmental, and military customers. Prior to joining Barrington Consulting, Kostia was employed as a Project Manager at Nautel ltd. where he managed international multi-million dollar project of design, delivery, installation, and commissioning of 2 Megawatt AM radio transmitter. Kostia is a Professional Engineer accredited by Engineers Nova Scotia (former APENS) and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with proven leadership, problem-solving, delivery, and communication skills.
Gail Okoh
Gail OkohDirector, Marketing & Communications
Gail Okoh is from St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador. After Graduating from Memorial University, she moved to Halifax and began a long career in health care. Gail is an Information Management & Information Technology (IM&IT) Executive with more than 25 years in organizational leadership, project, business analysis, change, and privacy management. In 2018, after serving as Vice President of two very successful Maritime and family owned companies, Shannex Inc. and ABM Integrated Solutions, Gail formed her own consulting practice. Gail obtained her CMA (CPA) designation in 1996 and her PMP designation in 2006. In May 2010, Gail became a Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems. In 2016, Gail became certified in Change Management Process in accordance with Prosci ® methodology and tools. Gail has volunteered as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator for PMI NS for the past two years.
Angus Swantee
Angus SwanteeDirector, Technology
Angus Swantee is a Senior Project Manager with over 20 years’ experience leading IT projects in Health Care, Post Secondary Education, and Telecom industries. He holds three PMI certifications: the Project Management Professional (PMP), the Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), and the Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP). He specializes in projects designed to implement or upgrade complex IT systems, and also network upgrades or replacements. Additional areas of experience includes Change Management (ProSci methodology), the Scrum framework, Lean Six Sigma, risk/enterprise risk management and strategic planning. Angus has written, directed and produced film and tv content that has screened on CBC and at over 200 film festivals world-wide and won a number of awards, including a Canadian Comedy Award for Best Short Film.
Hamza Haneef
Hamza Haneef Treasurer
Hamza Haneef is a Financial Analyst in the utility industry In Halifax, NS. Hamza has over 8 years of accounting and financial analysis experience mainly in the energy and utility space. He is a Saint May’s University graduate and has recently completed all of the academic modules of the Chartered Professional Accounting designation (CPA). Hamza has worked extensively with project managers in developing, managing, and problem-solving project financials over his career and is a new member with PMI-NS. Prior to joining the board Hamza has actively volunteered with local community organizations since moving to Halifax, NS 10 years ago.
Richard Harrison

Richard is a Senior Project Manager at High Liner Foods. He is a PMP with over 15 years experience in advising, managing and leading programs and corporate transformation projects in the government, utilities, hi-tech and consumer products sectors. Richard is originally from Edinburgh, (Old) Scotland and moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia in July 2013. This is his first year on the board of PMINS. He is excited to have taken on the Membership and Volunteers role and is looking forward to contributing to the Chapter and serving its membership.
